Report Runner Web Portal 2012 Released

Posted: November 17th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: News | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

Report Runner Web Portal 2012 has been released! The biggest new feature is the way parameters are now handled. With our earlier versions of Web Portal, you had to remember your parameter descriptions. Now we import and create them for you! Lastly, another new feature is the ability to format the date display within the parameter field. You can set it to MM/DD/YY, DD/MM/YY, or YYYYMMDD.

If you’re looking for an easy, inexpensive way to post your Crystal Reports to the web/internet, you owe it to yourself to check out Report Runner Web Portal. You’ll find it much easier to implement than Crystal Server or Crystal Enterprise, too! Contact us for a FREE, 45 day evaluation!

By the way… one other thing… Report Runner Web Portal is a GREAT way to run Crystal Reports on your iPhone or iPad device. Check out our live demo on your favorite mobile device!

2012 Now Shipping!!!

Posted: October 17th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: News | Tags: , , | No Comments »

Report Runner 2012 is now shipping! How’s that for shipping ahead of schedule?!

Here are the new features…

Batch:

  • Full support of Crystal Reports 2011
  • Support for uploading to Sharepoint (added as a Destination Type)
  • Support for exporting to and reading RPTR Crystal Reports templates (introduced with Crystal Reports 2011)
  • Support for exporting to XLSX (introduced with Crystal Reports 2011)
  • Job window now displays Jeff-Net variables (like jnOutputFile and jnBurstEmail) if found in report
  • Viewer:

  • Full support of Crystal Reports 2011
  • Support for reading RPTR Crystal Reports templates (introduced with Crystal Reports 2011)
  • Support for exporting to XLSX (introduced with Crystal Reports 2011)
  • Added “EZ” print button (INI setting) for viewer usage on touch screen systems.
  • Differences between 2011 and 2012:

  • 2011 utilized .Net 3.5 technology; 2012 utilizes .Net 4. Why? The new Crystal Reports 2011 runtime engine required .Net 4, so we upgraded the app to utilize .Net 4 as well.
  • 2011 utilized the Crystal Reports 2008 runtime engine; 2012 utilizes Crystal Reports 2011.
  • The new Batch and Viewer features indicated above are exclusive to 2012, and 2012 is the version that will get any new features going forward. Should there be any bugs in 2011, we will fix those of course, but all new development is based on 2012.

New version of our Report Runner Batch and Report Runner Viewer will be released February 2011. It is currently in BETA. Right now, we’re referring to the next combined release as “Unified”. Why? Because EVERYTHING runs from one executable. What does this mean to you? It simplifies installation, security, licensing, and support.

We’re very excited about showing you screenshots from this new release. There’s so much to show you, we’re hesitant to put it all in one post (because we don’t want you to miss any new features), but here goes…

Billing, Invoicing, and Quotes Via FreshBooks

    Posted: June 30th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: News | Tags: , , , , , | No Comments »

FreshBooksAs of today, we’re going to start utilizing an online product called FreshBooks for billing, invoicing, and quotes. Just to be clear, we’ll still have the online store for you to order from. When you place your order though, we will post your order on FreshBooks and invoice you from there.

One of the big benefits of our new FreshBooks integration is renewals. We can set up your renewals to automatically bill you on a yearly basis! We’ve gone back and forth on automatically doing automated renewal billing for everyone, but we’ve decided to leave it up to you. If you would like us to set this up for you, just let Tracie know. She can be reached via email at tracie [at] jeff-net.com or 1.800.533.3638 x710.

If you purchase with us using a PO, we now have an easier ability to invoice you via “snail mail” if your company requires it. We still prefer to email invoices, but it’s 100% up to you.

FreshBooks is 100% secure utilizing leading encryption protocols.

As always, we welcome your comments. Please let us know what you think! We value your opinion.

BLOGHello Jeff-Net Fans! Welcome to our new blog. It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. This new blog will be used for everything from news (like screenshots of our new versions of Report Runner Batch and Report Runner Viewer) to documentation and tutorials. We’re still going to keep our user forums, but we’re going to start using this blog to post more technical information about our products. We’re also going to be migrating many, if not all, of our PDF-based tutorials to here, too.

Jeff will also be posting to a category called “What’s On Jeff’s Mind”. Here Jeff will discuss mainly business topics that he has a strong opinion of.

We would love to hear your comments and feedback as to what you would like to hear from us, too.
